Getting Started
Sidebar & Omni-Search
Every staff screen — LEO, SAFR and Dispatch — has the same left-hand sidebar: navigation in the middle, your unit status at the bottom, and at the very top a single search box that looks through everything the community has on record (Dispatch & LEO only).
The sidebar
The menu differs per department, but the shape does not:
| Department | Menu |
|---|---|
| Dispatch | Command Center · Incidents · Body Cam Feeds · Database · Warrants · News · Request Services, plus Server Controls and Messages |
| LEO | MDT Terminal: Active Terminal · Incidents · Live Map — Intelligence: Database Search · Reports · Warrants — Community: News · Request Services |
| SAFR | Operations Terminal: Active Call · Incidents · Protocols · Supplies & Hospitals · Live Map · Patient Lookup · Reports · Case Files — Community: News · Request Services |
Messages sits under the menu in all three, with a red badge when something is unread. At the bottom sit your 10-code status buttons and GO OFF-DUTY.
Collapsing. The button in the sidebar header folds the sidebar down to icons only, which is worth doing on a small screen or an in-game tablet. Hovering an icon shows its label, your status buttons move into a narrow rail, and the choice is remembered for next time. LEO, SAFR and Dispatch share one setting; the civilian portal has its own.
In portrait — a tablet held upright — the sidebar moves to the bottom of the screen as a tab bar, and the status codes move up under the top bar.
Omni-search
One box, everything in it. Type three characters or more and it searches on its own — there is no button and no Enter. Only for Dispatch & LEO.
What you can type
| Type this | And you find |
|---|---|
| a plate | the vehicle, its owner, that owner's reports, and incidents the plate turns up in |
| a name | the person, their vehicles, their reports and their incidents |
| a report number | RPT-00123, #123 or just 123 |
| an incident number | the incident, plus the people and vehicles on it |
Results come back in five sections — BOLOs, Civilians, Vehicles, Reports, Incidents — each with a count. The order shifts to match what you searched on: type a plate and vehicles come first, type a name and people do.
Active BOLOs always sit on top, whatever you searched for. If the plate you are running has a BOLO on it, that is the first thing you see.
Names are matched on middle names too, even where the result only shows the first and last name.
Opening a result
Click a row and it opens as a floating panel over your current screen — you keep the map, the queue or the report you were working on. See Floating Panels.
If you have too many panels open you get "Panel limit reached — close one first." Close or unpin one and click again.
Recently opened
Click the magnifying glass and you get your last ten opened results for this community — what you clicked, not what you typed. Every line reopens its panel straight away, and Clear recent empties the list.
This is the quickest way back to a person you were working on five minutes ago without retyping the name.
The × on the right of the box clears what you typed. Clicking anywhere else just closes the dropdown and keeps your search term.
