Getting Started

Your Settings

The gear to the right of the clock opens your own settings. It is in every topbar — dispatch, LEO, SAFR and the civilian portal — and it holds the same four things everywhere.

Everything behind it is yours alone. None of it is a community setting, none of it changes anything for the person next to you, and an admin cannot set it for you.

Sound levels CAD

Every CAD sound, with a mute and a volume slider each, grouped the way you would look for them: Dispatch, Duty status, Alerts, Messaging, Civilian services and ALPR.

Sounds the browser can play have a preview button, so you can set the level without waiting for the event. The ones that only exist in the game are labelled as such and have no preview — you are setting the level they will play at in-game.

Two things are deliberately not in this list.

  • The radio has its own master volume and a volume per person in the radio panel, which is a finer grain than one slider could give you. See Radio.
  • Panic alarms and 911 keep their controls on the banner itself. A safety-critical sound gets exactly one place to be turned down, so it can never be muted from a screen you were not thinking about it on.

So if you have muted everything here and a panic alarm still goes off — that is working as intended, and the control you want is on the alarm.

ALPR settings

Which plate-scan alerts reach you while you are on patrol. This one is for officers with a plate reader in the car; the whole thing is described in ALPR & Plate Alerts.

Stream Deck

If you have an Elgato Stream Deck, this is where you connect it. The plugin puts your duty status and the radio — channel, volume — on physical keys, so going 10-8 or switching channel does not cost you a window.

Getting it running:

  1. Open Settings → Stream Deck and press Download. The panel names the version and size, and What's new shows what changed.
  2. Install it and add the LUX CAD action in the Stream Deck app.
  3. The action shows a pairing code. Enter it at lux-cad.com/link/streamdeck and the deck is linked to your account.

The modal then lists your linked decks and when each was last used, with UNLINK to cut one loose — it stops controlling your status immediately, and you can pair it again later.

Two things worth knowing before you go looking for them. The plugin does not update itself, so check this panel again after a CAD update. And the status keys set the five base statuses — available, unavailable, busy, en route, on scene — not your community's own extra codes; those stay in the sidebar.

There is no download button on the in-game tablet, on purpose: the tablet has nowhere to put a file. Open the CAD in a browser on the PC the deck is plugged into.

Document dates

The bottom of the menu switches how dates are printed: US (7/21/2026) or EU (21-7-2026). It applies to ID cards and documents and to the dates through the rest of the CAD.

There is no automatic detection behind this. In the game the CAD cannot tell which region your machine is set to, so it asks instead of guessing wrong.

These settings live on the device

They are stored on the machine you set them on, not on your account. The in-game tablet and the CAD in a browser are two different devices as far as this is concerned, and so is a second PC — each starts at the defaults until you set it.

That is deliberate: a dispatcher on headphones and a player on desk speakers do not want the same volumes, and the same person is often both.
