SAFR

Unit Inventory

Medical Supply Inventory tracks what is actually left in the station depot — so the crew that comes on after you does not discover the drug box is empty at the wrong moment.

info

In Station Mode there is no shared depot for SAFR: every apparatus carries its own supplies, and you restock it at a station. See Station Mode.

What is tracked

Each item has a name, a category, a quantity against its capacity, and a flag for whether it is controlled.

Controlled items — the ones a real service counts twice and signs for — are marked so they stand out from gauze and gloves.

Using stock

Adjust the quantity down when you use something. It cannot go below zero or above the item's capacity, which is what makes the number meaningful: it is a count of what is there, not a running tally of what was consumed.

Log it when you use it, not at the end of shift. An inventory updated from memory hours later is a list of guesses, and the crew relieving you is making decisions off it.

Restocking

Adjust the quantity back up when the depot is restocked. A newly added item starts full, because you only add an item you have just stocked.

Why it is worth keeping

The panel sits next to hospital status on the Supplies & Hospitals page on purpose. Both answer the same kind of question before you commit to a plan: can I actually do this. Knowing you are down to one unit of something changes whether you transport now or wait for a second crew — and it is the sort of detail that makes a medical scene play out like a service rather than an inventory-free sandbox.

Stock is per community and shared by everyone on duty, so what you take, everyone loses.
