Hospitals
Where you take a patient depends on who can take them. The hospital status array on the Supplies & Hospitals page shows every hospital in the city, live.
Reading the board
Each hospital shows its status, its beds available against capacity, its level, and an ER wait estimate.
| Status | Means |
|---|---|
| ACCEPTING | taking patients normally |
| LIMITED | taking patients, but under pressure |
| DIVERT | not taking patients — go somewhere else |
Divert is a hard no, and the board enforces it: you cannot route to a hospital on divert. That is deliberate — divert exists because the hospital cannot safely take another patient, and a route button would invite arguing with it.
Statuses update live for everyone, so a hospital going on divert while you are driving changes on your screen.
Routing
Hover a hospital that is accepting or limited and the status badge becomes ROUTE. Click it and a waypoint is set in the game, so you can drive there without reading a map.
That is the point of the panel sitting on this board rather than in an admin screen: choose the destination and start driving in one action.
In Station Mode, ROUTE while you are aboard an apparatus also sets it to Transporting, and the route goes to your whole crew. Setting Transporting in the sidebar asks which hospital. When you arrive, the apparatus switches to Returning. See Station Mode.
Choosing a destination
Beds and level matter more than distance for anything serious. A closer hospital that is limited and low-level is often the wrong answer for a red patient, and the numbers on the board are there so that is a decision rather than a guess.
On a mass-casualty scene, spread patients across hospitals rather than sending everything to the nearest one — that is the fastest way to put a hospital on divert and make the rest of the scene harder.
Who sets the status
Hospitals and their statuses are configured by your community, and the status can be changed as roleplay demands. If a hospital is permanently missing or its capacity looks wrong, that is an admin setting — see Hospitals.
