Hospitals
The hospitals SAFR can route patients to, with the capacity numbers they read before choosing one.
What a hospital needs
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Name | e.g. Pillbox Hill Medical Center |
| Level | free text — Level I Trauma, Level II, Urgent Care |
| X / Y coordinates | the in-game position |
| Bed capacity | how many beds it has when full |
The coordinates are what make routing work. SAFR clicks ROUTE on the hospital status panel and gets an in-game waypoint; without accurate coordinates that waypoint points at the wrong place, which is worse than no button at all.
Take them from in-game rather than from a map estimate.
Level matters more than it looks
Medics use level and beds together to choose a destination for a serious patient — a closer hospital that is low-level is often the wrong answer. Write levels that mean something in your community's roleplay and keep them consistent between hospitals, otherwise the field is just decoration.
Status is not set here
Whether a hospital is accepting, limited or on divert is operational state, changed as roleplay demands rather than in admin. What you configure here is which hospitals exist and what their ceiling is.
Divert is enforced: SAFR cannot route to a hospital on divert. See Hospitals.
How many
Enough that choosing between them is a real decision, few enough that the status panel stays scannable. Three or four well-placed hospitals across the map does more for medical roleplay than a dozen that nobody can tell apart — and a single hospital makes both the status panel and the divert mechanic pointless.
