Bodycam
Live bodycam streaming for on-duty LEO and SAFR units. Dispatch can open any unit's camera from the unit menu, and the Body Cam Feeds page shows several at once.
Two switches, not one
Entitlement decides whether your community may use bodycam. It is set by LUX, not by you.
Enable is yours, and only works once the community is entitled.
That is why the Bodycam item may not be in your sidebar at all: without the entitlement there is nothing to configure, so the page is not shown rather than shown-but-useless.
If you want bodycam and do not have it, that is a conversation in the LUX CAD Discord rather than a setting you are missing.
What it costs to run
Bodycam is live video from every on-duty unit that has it running. It is by some distance the heaviest feature in the CAD, which is the reason it is gated at all rather than simply being on for everybody.
Turn it on when your community actually watches the feeds — a dispatcher who uses them, or supervisors reviewing incidents. Leaving it on because it sounds good costs bandwidth for a picture nobody opens.
Using it
- Dispatch opens a single unit's camera from the right-click unit menu; it arrives as a floating panel. See Active Units.
- Body Cam Feeds in the dispatch sidebar shows a grid of them.
A feed only exists while the unit is on duty and streaming. An offline camera is a unit who has not started it, not a fault.
Privacy
Bodycam is a roleplay tool inside your community, and the feed is visible to staff who can open it. Make sure your community knows that is how it works — "the dispatcher can see my camera" is a reasonable thing for a player to want told up front rather than discovered.
